George is a technology commercialisation specialist combining over 25 years broad-ranging commercial experience in both global blue chip and smaller companies with 8 years at King’s College London’s Tech. Transfer office.
Whilst at King’s he was responsible for the creation of 8 spin-out companies, raising £2.4m in seed funding, participated in a flotation raising £15m and has advised the boards of 12 early stage companies. George has a marketing background encompassing brand management, new product development and market research.
In a 20 year career at BP which included experience in manufacturing/supply, shipping, retail and lubricants marketing, George spend 7 years within the Corporate Venturing department (BP Ventures) providing marketing and commercial input to the company’s research base.
George spent 5 years in the City working for a global insurance company applying his marketing/new product development skills to effect ‘culture change’ in the company’s approach to its distribution channel and redefined product offerings.
George has been exposed to an extremely wide variety of technologies and markets, adding his new product development & commercial skills to: ensuring product development is informed by market need, business planning, fund raising and board level support.
