Niels is a former CEO and senior McKinsey partner now acting as a very active non-executive director. His main focus is on companies in either a turnaround or rapid growth situation. Supporting executive teams in achieving major beneficial change is a common denominator.

Niels’ background is in consulting, consumer goods and health care products. Upon leaving McKinsey & Co in 2000 he led a buyout of a Scandinavian health care and consumer products company which he turned around and eventually sold to a private equity group.

Having worked in many parts of Europe for most of his career, Niels is now settled in the UK and become a member of NXD to pursue his objective of adding value to a portfolio of businesses in a non-executive capacity.

Niels’ current roles include chairman of 3 companies – Encase Ltd a UK packaging group; Royal Greenland, the largest company in Greenland; and Orifarm, the largest provider of pharmaceuticals in the Scandinavian market. He is also working closely with Nordic Aviation Capital a leader within leasing of turboprop aircraft.
