Simon has spent over 20 years in the management consultancy profession, having completed an Economics degree at Cambridge University, an MBA at Wharton Business School and a period in commercial banking with Midland Bank Ltd (now HSBC plc). He started his consulting career was with Andersen Consulting and the Mac Group/Gemini Consulting focusing on strategy development, operations, transformation, change management and investment appraisal in the telecoms, airlines, oil and gas and public sectors.

He was CEO of Analysys Mason, telecoms strategy consultants, from 1998 to 2010. During Simon’s tenure as CEO, the Company grew it’s turnover to c.£30m from £5m, increased international revenues to 70%+ of total through opening operations in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia; expanding into Media, and Telecoms Software; and completed a sale and merger plus 4 acquisitions.

In his last year, as Vice Chairman, he facilitated acquisitions in Singapore and India as well as spearheading diversification into the Energy sector. He led their investment in Cornwall Energy in 2010 where he remains Non-Executive Chairman.

This has allowed Simon to pursue his other professional interests in Board advisory, Angel investing and coaching work and has built up a portfolio of senior executive clients and Non-Executive Chair and Director positions. He has been heavily involved in fund-raising and financial management for several of these companies.
