Charles is private equity specialist. Over the last 25 years he has completed over 100 investments in unlisted companies, mainly in Europe, but some in Silicon Valley, working for organizations such as GE Capital and the London based private investment office of the Grand Emir of Qatar. He started his career selling some of the first pre-packed fresh ground coffee available in the UK, as part of the pioneering van sales force of Cadbury-Typhoo.
Charles has served on the boards of 20 SMEs in a range of high growth industry sectors as diverse as media rights (an investment with Simon Fuller’s 19) to shut-down systems for oil rigs. He applies the disciplines of private equity, i.e., value creation, to the needs of corporate governance. He has achieved GE Six Sigma quality blackbelt awards, a background and culture, which has trained him to constructively add to board presentations.
Charles has an interest in helping businesses go to next stage of their corporate development. He has used his network to attract additional funding. He has project managed acquisitions and created distribution joint venture and licensing deals and even helped to list one company on the London Stock Exchange.
